The first stretch of the Punggol Heritage Trail is now open, inviting visitors to explore Punggol’s unique blend of history, culture, and nature. Once known for its kampung charm and coastal views, Punggol Road has been beautifully transformed into a 1.3-kilometre green corridor that connects Punggol Waterway Park to Punggol Point Park.

🚶♀️ Step Into History Along Punggol Road
The first 400-metre section of the trail, located between Punggol North Avenue and Campus Boulevard, brings the past to life. This scenic walkway preserves the original undulating terrain and lush coastal forest habitat, allowing visitors to experience the natural landscape that has shaped Punggol’s identity for generations.
Look out for:
- 🌳 Over 1 km of meandering trails surrounded by native flora and fauna
- 🌲 50-plus-year-old heritage trees and critically endangered species such as the Common Putat
- 🚌 A recreated vintage bus stop, paying tribute to the old Punggol Road and its kampung transport days

By the end of the year, the Punggol Heritage Trail will become even more exciting with family-friendly features:
- ✨ Adventure Playground inspired by the childhood game Pick Up Sticks
- 🎲 Backwoods Trail, a rustic footpath modelled after Snakes & Ladders, perfect for both kids and adults
These playful installations will encourage visitors to reconnect with the outdoors while learning about Punggol’s transformation from a rural village to a smart, green town.

Connecting Parks, Homes, and the Future
When completed in 2026, the full Punggol Heritage Trail will link:
- Punggol Waterway Park
- Punggol Point Park
- Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) Campus
- Punggol Coast MRT Station
- Punggol Coast Hawker Centre and nearby community spaces
This trail will form part of Punggol’s growing network of green corridors, allowing residents, students, and visitors to walk, jog, or cycle through scenic nature trails while staying close to the town’s amenities.
