According to Sun Xue Ling’s Facebook post, the autonomous shuttles operating on Route 1—which connects Matilda Court, Punggol Clover, Punggol Plaza and Oasis Terraces—have completed their mapping and familiarisation phase, clocking more than 10,000 km safely without incident.
She shared that the Punggol AV shuttle service is gearing up for community rides in January 2026, with public rides targeted to begin two to three months later. The autonomous shuttles complement Singapore’s transport system by enhancing first- and last-mile connectivity for commuters.
From this month, other stakeholders such as key grassroots leaders and agency partners will be invited to try out the rides. To support commuter convenience and safety, signages are being installed at pick-up and drop-off points, and boarding areas are clearly demarcated in bright purple.
Sun also noted that some lane markings have been adjusted in crowded locations such as Oasis Terraces to further strengthen commuter safety.
She added that the Ministry of Transport will continue to work closely with union leaders to address job opportunities and any concerns drivers may have, and thanked union leaders for their valuable feedback on Singapore’s autonomous vehicle journey.
